Mike Jacobs - CHPP, RESL
Mike is the creative mind behind the innovative safety and wellness solutions that SafeGuard provides. Our aim is for children to enjoy a safer and more productive experience during what is undoubtedly one of the most important phases of their young lives.
Mike has been a Bay Area resident for over 25 years. He is a certified Homeland Protection Professional through the Global Center for Threat, Risk, and Vulnerability, and the National Sheriff's Association Center for Public Safety. He is a member of the Global Society of Homeland and National Security Professionals and a certified instructor in non-weapons active shooter preparedness.
Mike has completed the All Hazards Resource Unit Leader (RESL) training through FEMA. His passion for emergency management and professional growth has driven him towards a continuous education in homeland security and the protection of schools and critical infrastructure. He is consistently training through (CalOES) California Operations of Emergency Services, the (DoD) Center for Development of Security Excellence, and the (FEMA/DHS) Emergency Management Institute. He has also attended business school with a major in Business Management and a degree in Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
Mike has worked in the California school system for over 15 years dealing with the application of electricity and life safety communications. He has gained an understanding of both the human factors and the technical factors involved in a community making the complex choices needed to provide their children with the best possible education experience. Mike uses this understanding to help develop school safety solutions that are reliable, effective, and non-intrusive. Considerations that are important to parents, teachers, school administrators, and public safety officials.
